If there is one thing I have leveraged on to earn a side income, it is my Job experience. As an accountant, I have used the experience to seek part time work in other companies and I have trained others the skills I have gained over time from the previous Jobs. Many employees don’t know about the value they have and those that know this fact, have continuously made good money.
The pandemic created a lot of opportunities for remote working and therefore you can serve several companies from the comfort of your home. Some employers will only employ you for say 3 days in the week and the other two days, you are redundant. It is these flexible working opportunities that you should use to find a part time job or take on consulting work with other companies.
You need to start seeing yourself as a consultant and a supplier of your services. Many find it a joke when I refer to my employer as a client of my services, many don’t think that this should be the case but it is, all of us in employment are providing a service and so we are suppliers to those companies. If you agree to this then, why not look for other clients that can take on your services while you still serve your main client who is your employer.
I don’t know what it is for you but what I am sure is that you have some experience you have gotten over time that you can use outside full time employment, to make some money that can increase your monthly income. This can either be in taking on part time jobs or creating trainings from your experience that others for skills you have can pay for.
